Permanent hosting with the ease of a drag-and-drop deploy

01

Overview

WalHost puts deployments on the Walrus decentralized storage network with Sui-chain verification — browser-based deploys with zero CLI or local setup, instant yoursite.wal.host subdomains with SSL, immutable versioned history with one-click rollbacks, GitHub auto-deploys and preview environments, on-chain ownership proof, and portal CDN delivery.

100+ global nodes, 3x redundancy, 99.9% uptime, sub-second deploys — supporting React, Next.js, Vue, Svelte, Astro, Angular, Nuxt, or plain HTML, for dApp frontends, portfolios, docs, and static apps.

Hosting nobody can seize or silently delete — with Vercel-grade ergonomics.

02

The Challenge

Decentralized hosting usually means installing the Sui CLI, Walrus CLI, and Rust, hand-editing configs, and managing DNS — so much friction that censorship-resistant, permanent hosting stays a niche. Developers needed Vercel-grade ease on infrastructure nobody can seize or silently delete.

  • Toolchain sprawl: Three CLIs and a Rust install before a single file is uploaded.
  • Config and DNS: Manual configuration is where decentralised hosting loses casual developers.
  • No undo: Versioning and rollbacks were an afterthought on permanent storage.

Role, Methods & Tools

Role

Developer experience end-to-end

The live-protocol hero with animated positioning, the six-pillar features grid (no-CLI deploys, subdomains, versioning, GitHub integration, Sui verification, portal hosting), the terminal-style deploy visualization, the storage/performance/security infrastructure story, framework support and quickstart docs, the three-step how-it-works (connect, deploy, scale), use-case tracks, and auth-gated app entry.

The Solution

I built push-and-deploy simplicity over serious infrastructure: background uploads to Walrus with 3x node replication and AES-256 integrity, site metadata (object ID, version hash, ownership) registered on Sui for transparent audit trails, automatic framework detection with zero config, branch previews and team flows via GitHub, and global edge delivery through the Walrus portal with DDoS protection.

  1. ConnectGitHub repo or drag-and-drop a build folder
  2. DeployAutomatic framework detection, zero config
  3. VerifyObject ID, version hash, and ownership on Sui
  4. Scale3x replication across 100+ nodes, portal CDN

In Practice

Link a GitHub repo for auto-deploys on every push, or drag-and-drop a build folder — live on the decentralized web in under 30 seconds with `walhost deploy ./dist`. Free tier included, no credit card required.

  • Sub-second deploys: Background uploads plus 3x node replication keep pushes fast and durable.
  • On-chain ownership: Site metadata registered on Sui gives every deploy a verifiable audit trail.
  • Nothing to install: Browser deploys, so a CLI is optional rather than a prerequisite.
